Tapesh and KANT‘s track “Ey Yo” is one of my favorite jams, so I was stoked but also somewhat hesitant to hear what this G R A D E S remix was all about… and I’m pleased to report that this remix is dope.
The South London producer, songwriter and DJ, G R A D E S successfully delivers a funky R&B throwback with a cool UK garage music vibe.
The build is fantastic and I love how G R A D E S switches up the Busta Rhymes’ “Dangerous” samples from original version (Sidenote: “Bassline for all of my people movin’ around!” is one of my favorite deep house lines).
I’m also pretty into his remix of the Aaliyah classic, “Rock The Boat”. I’m entranced by its soothing and intoxicating deep house vibe. After listening through G R A D E S’ SoundCloud, he’s really won me over because he’s got a fantastic sense of how to fuse R&B and deep house together.
